CinemATL   A bi-monthly online publication dedicated to shining a light on the Atlanta Film scene and the southeast, supporting its filmmakers and creating an outlet for the Atlanta film community. 208 

Savage Cinema   A bi-monthly publication dedicated to horror cinema. Includes feature articles, reviews and other interesting topics. 240 

Film Ireland Magazine   A bi-monthly publication with reviews and news on the latest in Irish and world cinema. Excerpts from their hardcopy issues can be read online. 190 

Critical Arts – a Journal for Cultural Studies   A bi-yearly journal that has an African cultural studies focus. Currently located in the Centre for Cultural and Media Studies at the University of Natal in Durban. The site lists all their issues, but only select articles are available online. The department site also has a section on African cinema and TV. Although the site has not been updated, it still contains useful information and resources on African culture. 238 

Journal of e-Media Studies   A blind peer-reviewed, on-line journal dedicated to the scholarly study of the history and theory of electronic media, especially television and new media. It is an inter-disciplinary journal -- welcoming submissions across the fields and methodologies that study media and media history. 275 

La Fuga   A Chilean Film Journal: Criticism, Reviews and Analysis. 209 

P.O.V.   A Danish journal of film studies that devotes their March issues to short films. 206 

16:9   A Danish online journal of film studies that is published five times pro anno. The essays, articles, interviews and reviews are primarily in Danish but each issue features an article in English written by a film scholar. 309

Wide Angle  Popular Link  A film quarterly of theory, criticism, and practice. Wide Angle examines a variety of topics ranging from international cinema to the history and aesthetics of film. 621 

IndieWire   A high-end mag, attuned to American indies especially, great with industry news, reports from festivals. Regularly updated. 193 

Views Reviews Interviews   A Journal of Cinema and Cultural Theory. Although it's the 1999 issue, the articles are still worth reading. Features articles on Kurosawa, Wajda, Brecht, and focuses on Indian cinema. 221 

Kinema   A Journal of History, Theory and Aesthetics of Film and Audiovisual Media. Published at the University of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. 261

Scope: An On-Line Journal of Film Studies   A refereed, online journal published by the Institute of Film Studies, University of Nottingham, UK. They encourage the submission of articles, film reviews, book reviews, review essays, and reports that engage with the cutting-edge debates in film, media and cultural studies. 389 

Jump Cut   A review of contemporary media. 251 

FLOW   A space where researchers, teachers, students, and the public can read about and discuss the changing landscape of contemporary media at the speed that media moves. Flow is organized around short, topical columns written by respected media scholars on a bi-weekly schedule. 211 

Offscreen   A very impressive Canadian site that's been online several years now. Updated regularly with a huge archive of great articles on art and independent cinemas. 214 

Cinema Journal   Academic journal published in cooperation with the Society for Cinema and Media Studies. Available online through Project Muse (issues since 1999 only). 483 

Journal of Film and Video   Academic journal published in cooperation with the University Film and Video Association. 282 

Adaptation: The Journal of Literature on Screen Studies   Adaptation is an international, peer-reviewed journal, offering academic articles, film and book reviews, including both book to screen adaptation, screen to book adaptation, popular and ‘classic’ adaptations, theatre and novel screen adaptations, television, animation, soundtracks, production issues and genres in literature on screen. Adaptation provides an international forum to theorise and interrogate the phenomenon of literature on screen from both a literary and film studies perspective. 147 

Journal of Communication   All aspects of communication and all methods of scholarly inquiry into communication. 205 

Popular Communication   All aspects of popular communication and mediated popular culture texts, artifacts, audiences, events and practices. Encourages diverse methodological, theoretical and disciplinary perspectives particularly those from a cultural context. 311 

Millennium Film Journal   Although it doesn’t have any of its articles online, the site lists all of the journal’s issues since 1978 which are all available by mail-order. The journal deals with independent, experimental, and avant-garde cinema, video, and, more recently, works that use the newer technologies. 185 

Cantrills Filmnotes   Although out of action, this is the site for the legendary Australian magazine. Committed to experimental film, it contains a handy section listing the contents of every issue. 214 

Kinoeye   Amazing journal for articles and information on Central and Eastern European film, covering many (obscure) art films. It's updated fortnightly, with between 4 and 10 original pieces on fringe European cinema in every issue. The jounal plans to have a regular column devoted to Scandinavian cinema. 197 

Refractory: a Journal of Entertainment Media   An e-journal that explores the diverging and intersecting aspects of current and past entertainment media. Published by the Cinema Studies Program, School of Culture and Communication, University of Melbourne. 109 

Postmodern Culture   An electronic journal of interdisciplinary criticism. One of the oldest online journals--founded in 1990. 242 

Contracampo   An exciting and comprehensive Portugese online film journal, divided into five sections: Artigos (articles), updated monthly; Críticas (criticism), current releases updated weekly; Plano Geral, a section devoted to free writing on various topics; Programação (program), which lists the most interesting festival or film programs showing in Brazil; and Arquivo, their archive. 193 

PHOSITA - an intellectual property blog   An intellectual property blawg or patent blog. In patent law, PHOSITA is a mythical person of ordinary skill in the art. Why is PHOSITA important? In order to be patentable, an invention must not be obvious to PHOSITA. This blawg (legal blog) aims to provide intellectual property information, news and advice that is of interest to the PHOSITA in all of us. 213 

Film & History   An Interdisciplinary Journal of Film and Television Studies. Film & History is concerned with the impact of motion pictures on our society. Film & History focuses on how feature films and documentary films both represent and interpret history. 452 

Projections   An interdisciplinary, peer-reviewed journal that explores the ways in which recent advancements in fields such as psychoanalysis, cognitive psychology, neuroscience, genetics and evolution help to increase our understanding of film, and how film itself facilitates investigations into the nature and function of the mind. The journal will also incorporate articles on the visual arts and new technologies related to film. Critical Studies in Television (journal)   An international, refereed online and hard copy journal focusing on fictions made for the small screen. It takes current and past television seriously and aims to encourage the academic and broader intellectual communities to recognize the value of the critical study of small screen fictions in the broadest sense. 343 

Hermenaut   An irregularly published journal of philosophy and pop-culture, has been described as a zine that gives voice to indie intellectual thought, a scholarly journal minus the university, and a sounding board for thinking folk who operate outside the ivory tower. Founded in 1992 by a rag-tag group of outsider intellectuals, Hermenaut uses the tools of philosophy, sociology, and critical theory to explode the received notions of academia and the hipster demimonde alike. 207 

Nouvelles "vues" sur le cinéma québécois   An online film journal dedicated to the study of cinema and the media in Quebec. 187 

Senses of Cinema   An online film journal devoted to the serious and eclectic discussion of cinema. Senses of Cinema promotes various divergent voices that speak to a wide and diverse audience. It aims to bring together a mix of writers: established and emerging, theorists and un-published cinephiles, filmmakers and film programmers, and local and international writers. The Thinking Eye   An online magazine devoted to Latin-American cinema. Available in English, Spanish and some texts in Portuguese. 177 

Public Culture   Award winning cultural studies journal for the critical multidisciplinary reader. Concerned with global flows and the cultural sphere, the journal features essays dealing with the increasing deterritorialization of cultural expressions and the rapid emergence of cosmopolitan forms -- such as cinema, television, museums, and tourism -- in different national settings. 222
